We are starting a new writing topic on persuasion. You
might be surprised at how many people and businesses are trying to convince you
to do things every day. You only have to watch commercials, read the paper,
look at the ads in your magazines, or read the billboards as you’re driving
home to see that persuasion is all around you.
Your homework is to find a
persuasive piece to bring to or share about in class. It can be an article in
the newspaper, a letter to the editor, a movie or book review, a commercial, or
an advertisement in a magazine or newspaper. Once you have found your
persuasive piece, answer the questions below.
1. Where did you find your persuasive example?
2. Who is trying to persuade you?
3. What are they trying to persuade you to do?
4. How do they try to persuade you?
5. Do you think their argument is convincing?
Why or why not?
1. I found my Ad on the TV
ReplyDelete2. John Lewis the store is.
3. To share and show how much much you love someone this Christmas by giving them a present.
4. Buy showing a video of a man that lives on the moon and is all alone but on Christmas day the girl sends a present to show him that he is loved.
5. Its true because you have to share and show how someone is loved.
I saw an advertisement on the TV of a theme park called Drayton Manor and the people on TV were trying to persuade me to go the theme park. They were persuading me by showing all the rides that are in Drayton Manor. They have the following rides and attractions: 4d cinema,Ben ten coaster,Buffalo coaster,Shockwave,Apocalypse, Maelstrom and many more. They also show a zoo in the advert. It also shows Thomasland. In Drayton Manor there are rides for younger and older children.
ReplyDeleteI think I should go there because it looks like a fun place.
I have found the leaflet from VIP Pets in my uncle's house. It came with the post and other leaflets.
ReplyDeleteIt was sent by Pets at Home Ltd. The company is trying to persuade you to join the VIP club, they are using many forms of persuasion. They are offering 10% off voucher, £10 health check, VIP membership card, helping charity while shopping, VIP birthday bonus, tips and other offers.
There is a form attached so it's very easy to join the club, free post envelope is also provided.
They are calling the pet very important so it might be very difficult to decline as there is many offers for the pet owner.
Their arguments are quite convincing but before joining this club firstly I would think if I really need it and check other stores offers.
I found my persuasive example in T.V advertisment. The advertisment is about nerf modulus toy gun.the advertisment is trying to persuade me.they are convincing me to buy there new toy.theyare tring to persuade me by showing the gun to transform into adrifferent types of gun. Yes their Argument is convincing because whatever their showing is true.
ReplyDeleteI have found the leaflet from The National Red Cross, this company is trying to persuade you to donate £5 for poor people so that they can either have a shelter from all the rain and coldness. If you do donate £5 they will give you £10.
ReplyDeleteIt also comes with 3 envelopes so you can donate 3 letters for people who are homeless and are in need for food and water.
i think that i will donate £10 because it is not fair that they have to live outdoors and for once they will know what it is like to live indoors and they will get to taste different foods like we do.
